What are your favourite brands in the showroom?

Bordallo Pinheiro ceramic art from Portugal is known for its bright colours, making them very unique and desirable worldwide. It’s amazing craftsmanship and great fun, very playful.

William Yeoward. This is an electric range with a distinctive style. It has innovation and originality and definitely is a market leader perceived as "modern British". It has an extensive selection of products, including furniture, upholstery, lighting, fabrics, wall coverings, rugs and home accessories. They are all made to extremely high standards.

What is your favourite fabric brand?

Thibaut offers stunning, sophisticated fabric, wallpapers and trims. They are an American brand and very inspirational. They have fresh/classical designs, bright, bold, stylish, a very distinctive style, and a very inspiring colour palette to work with.

What should people expect to find when visiting Amanda Hanley by design?

Boldly eclectic schemes, fabrics, wallpapers and bespoke furnishings. Innovative designs, Inspiration, creativity, originality, individuality, colour, and the unexpected.

What's your go-to playlist in the showroom?

El Bueno Y EL Malo, Hermanos Gutierrez. They are a Latin instrumental band formed in 2015 by a couple of brothers taking influence from the 1950s Latin American sound, it’s gorgeous.

Favourite Amanda Hanley by Design candle scent?

"Number one" reminds me of Winter, berries and frankincense, so very Christmassy. I never tire of this long-lasting scent.

What's your home style?                            

Exuberant and unrestrained.

Where’s your favourite place to go for dinner, lunch, or coffee?                            

Gees restaurant in Oxford is my favourite date night with my husband, Phillip. It is always fun, with delicious food, an exceptional restaurant and a great atmosphere.

Where are we most likely to find you doing outside of Amanda Hanley By Design?                            

Gardening, cultivating plants, ceramics and reading.

What are you enjoying doing at the moment?

I’m desperate to get out in the garden, but due to the weather, I am enjoying reading my favourite book of the moment ..." This is Happiness"  by Niall Williams. It is a fantastic book, luminous, lyrical and intensely absorbing.

If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

I would live in Spain because it’s hot and I love the Spanish and the cuisine. I adore the vibrant, warm culture. The people are so passionate and expressive.

What is your favourite time of year?

Spring with the excitement of the year ahead.

Any pets?

A beautiful Welsh springer spaniel who is totally bonkers, loving and very determined. We also have a female ginger cat who is feisty and character-ful. I love her spirit. She is strong-willed, and my husband is scared of her!
